The United States was not surprised at the rejection by the UN Security Council of the American resolution on Iran

The failure in the Security Council (SC) of the UN of the draft resolution of the USA about extension concerning Iran of embargo on delivery of weapon isn't surprising in Washington. This was announced by Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Robert O Brien on August 14 on Fox News. This is regrettable, but not surprising, answered O Brien at the request of the leading TV channel to comment on the failure of the US anti-Iran initiative. Trump's aide emphasized that the prospect of Iran gaining the opportunity to acquire weapons from Russia and China is inconceivable for Washington, although for countries still adhering to the JCPOA agreement, such an opportunity was only part of the deal they signed. According to him, the United States has other instruments of influence, including the possible return of sanctions against Iran. Today we were defeated, but nothing has yet been finally resolved, said O Brien. According to the news agency, the UN Security Council rejected the US resolution to extend the arms embargo on Iran. Sales of Renault cars increased in Russia
