In China, real per capita income fell
The nominal located income per capita in China was 8561 yuans (about $1211) for the first quarter 2020 that is 0.8% more year on year, reports on April 17 the Xinhua agency. After deducting price factors, disposable per capita income in China fell by a 3.8% year-on-year, the National Bureau of Statistics of the PRC reported. In particular, disposable per capita income in urban areas of the country was 11,691 yuan, 0.5% more in nominal terms and 3.9% less in real terms. In rural areas, nominal disposable income per capita was 4,641 yuan, 0.9% more in nominal terms and 4.7% lower in real terms. Per capita consumer spending fell by a 8.2% year-on-year to 5082 yuan for the first quarter. China's gross domestic product reached 20.65 trillion yuan (about $2.91 trillion) in the first quarter, down 6.8% a year earlier in the same period. The reason for this is the epidemic of a new coronavirus in the country.
