Amazon will spend more than $10 billion to create a satellite Internet system


The American company Amazon invests more than $10 billion in the Kuiper satellite Internet project. This was reported in the company's blog. Amazon introduced the Kuiper satellite Internet project in the spring of 2019. This project involves the creation of a near-Earth constellation of 3236 satellites, which will provide broadband Internet access to hard-to-reach areas around the world. In parallel with the implementation of a similar project, the American company SpaceX is engaged in. To launch Starlink satellites into orbit, the company uses its own Falcon 9 launch vehicles. As previously reported by the news agency, on July 31, the US Federal Communications Commission approved Amazon's application for the deployment of 3236 satellites in Earth orbit. It is planned that the creation of the group will be completed in 2029.
