Merkel: negotiations on Albania's accession to the EU will begin before the end of the year

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on July 8 presented to the deputies of the European Parliament priority areas of German activity as chairman of the EU Council. According to the Albanian news agency Telegrafi Maqedoni, among such priorities will be the opening of the first chapters of negotiations on the accession of Albania and North Macedonia to the EU by the end of 2020. Recall that last week the European Commission presented a draft framework for negotiations on the accession of Albania and North Macedonia to the European Union. Also on the list of priority areas were policies towards Russia, China and African states, as well as the fight against misinformation and migration policy.
