Prices for antiviral drugs soared in Tajikistan

Prices of medicines in Tajikistan began to rise rapidly, and some medicines disappeared from pharmacies after the official announcement of the appearance of coronavirus in the country on April 30. At the same time, Tajikistan began to buy various antibiotics and antiviral drugs in pharmacies, used most often for the treatment of influenza and ARVI. In turn, this has led to an increase in prices, in some cases the cost of drugs by 3 4 times, and a shortage of medicines. In the antitrust service of the country in response to complaints of citizens reported that now specialists of the department study the validity of raising prices for medicines. The press center of the department stressed that specialists work in all cities and districts of the country to study the situation and prevent artificial increase in the price of medicines. At the same time, persons who unnecessarily overestimate prices will be brought to justice. At the same time, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the population of the country noted that medicines will be brought to the country on time, but, most likely, they will be sold already more expensive, as their purchase price has also increased. Meanwhile, doctors strongly recommend to Tajikistan not to buy medicines on its own initiative, without consulting with doctors. They note that without the appointment of doctors, antiviral drugs and antibiotics can cause irreparable harm to humans instead of benefits.
