Ukraine once again blocked Russian resolution in the UN on lifting sanctions
Ukraine has again blocked the Russian Federation's anti-sanctions proposals to the United Nations. This was announced today, April 22, on his Facebook page by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba. Recall that the Russian authorities proposed to ease or lift unilateral sanctions altogether during the pandemic in order to facilitate the provision of assistance in the framework of the international fight against coronavirus. According to Kuleba, from the point of view of Ukrainian policy, the initiative and resolution proposed by the Russian Federation at the United Nations General Assembly aimed at easing the sanctions regime while the coronavirus pandemic reigns in the world is manipulation. As I promised in early April, we will continue to block Russia's attempts to destroy sanctions regimes, writes the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Kuleba believes that the weakening of the sanctions regime will not help in the fight against the pandemic. As previously reported by the news agency, on April 3, Ukraine already blocked the previous version of the Russian resolution on lifting sanctions during the pandemic, which Russia proposed and supported 28 other countries.
