Two victims of heavy rains in northern Tanzania
Prolonged heavy rains in the Arusha region left two people dead and many homeless. This is reported by the newspaper Mtanzania with reference to reports of local authorities. Arumeru County Governor Jerry Muro told the publication's journalist that the showers continued for three days, leaving two residents of the municipality of Meru dead on Wednesday, April 23. One of them, a 65-year-old resident of a village in the vicinity of Meru, died after a landslide while he was sleeping in his house. Muro added that the second three-year-old child who died from the village of Valesca, who was washed away by water flows. The Governor reported that the father of the dead boy had only managed to save one child.
